A casual but informative pickling class! Learn all about pickling with vinegar with Fiona from Cranston Pickles.

Produce used in the class will be seasonal and from Bonners in the covered market - using local suppliers as always (in usual Cranston Pickles style). Fiona will be on hand to talk all things pickles! The pickling we will be focusing on in this class are vinegar based pickles! The pickle variety which she grew up eating and mastered first. You will leave with a good pickliscious understanding and have the knowledge + confidence by the end of the class to go forth and pickle your hearts out!

TICKET INCLUDES:

We will learn to make 3 different types of vinegar based pickles!

  • Cold brine and salting preservation methods (best for longevity).

  • Hot brine method.

  • Quick pickles - otherwise knows as quickles! Featuring your favourite smacked cucumbers that appear on our menus regularly.

Includes 1 drink - the bar will be open if you would like to grab any more but first one is on us to get you settled in.

Recipes of each pickle we learn to take home.

Pickles you make to take home and enjoy!

A light spread using local suppliers to enjoy at the end of the class - including some of the pickles we make on the day! This can be vegan or vegetatarian.
